How can I sign up for an account?

Signing up on Pakistan Connections is absolutely free. If you are 13 years of age, you are allowed to sign up. To sign up, simply visit our Sign Up page and fill up your first name, last name, email, password, and date of birth and click on Sign up button. You will immediately receive an email from our team. Click on the confirmation link in the email and you are done. Now you have become one of our valued users.

What services can I enjoy after sign up?

With free registration, you become able to enjoy various forum features. You can post new threads or respond to other’s threads. You can modify your posts at any time, and also get email notifications whenever someone replies to posts and threads which are particularly chosen by you. There is also facility of sending private messages to others if you do not want to share anything on board.

Do I need invitation for sign up?

Signups can be made through both invitations and through the site directly. You can sign up through an invitation from a friend. But, you can also sign up on our site directly through the sign up link present on the site. Later, you can invite other friends to sign up on Pakistan Connections.

What is password strength and why I need a strong password?

Password is the secret phrase that you enter at the time of signing in. You should choose strong password so that it can better protect your account. A strong password contains numbers, upper and lower case letter and other characters of punctuation etc. Create a password in a manner so that it remains easy to remember for you but difficult for others to discover. If you choose a strong password, you make your account safer from hacking. Choose different passwords for signing up on Pakistan Connections.

Friends:

How do I search friends?

There is search field at the top. Enter the name, user ID or name of your friend in the search box. You will get many options; select the one who is actually your friend and add as friend.

How do I add friends?

Click on the Invite Friends link from top tabs on your wall and enter the email of your friends you wish to invite and click on Invite. Invitations to add as friend will be sent to your listed friend(s). Once they accept your invite, they will start appearing in your friends list on Pakistan connections. Now, you can communicate with the on frequent bases on our site.

Why can’t I add a certain friend?

Once you have sent friend request to a certain friend, you cannot send another one. You have to wait until the other person confirms you as friend. Also, through privacy setting, you can limit who can send you friend request. If someone has set this setting, you cannot send invite to him. Also remember, be very careful about sending friend request because if many people reject your friend request, report you spam or block you as friend, we reserve the right to stop you from sending any further friend invitations.

What is the way of finding a friend?

There are many ways you can search a friend. You can search friends through their email, name, profession, college, school and other personal information. Simply, type in your desired query of friend find in the search box at the top of the main page of your profile and click search. You will get many options. You can see who is your actual friend among those and add him as friend.

How do I find something else in the entire site?

To search anything in the entire site, write the query in the search box at the top of the page. You will get results from the entire site which contains that key phrase. That can be an audio, video, book, forum thread or post, etc. You can then select what you were looking for within those results.

Profile:

How can I customize my profile?

Once you have signed in, you can make changes to your profile by clicking on the link of Edit Profile on top of your profile page.

How can I change my name?

You need to enter Edit Profile section to change your current name. Go to My Account tab and click on Name. Then, enter your required First, Middle and Last name there and see how your Display Name will appear to others on Pakistan Connections profile.

Is my username changeable?

Yes, you can change your username once. In Edit Profile section, go under My Account tab and click on Username. Change your username carefully and click on Save button to save your new username.

How do I change my password?

Changing password on frequent bases helps you to protect your account from hacking. You can change your password under My Account tab in Edit Profile section. Now click on Password and enter your old password and new password and click on Save Changes button to change your password.

How to deactivate my account?

Enter Edit Profile section and under the tab of My Account, click on Deactivate. You will get a pop up to enter you Pakistan Connections password to confirm deactivation. Once you enter password and click on Deactivate button, your account will deactivate.

Forum:

What is a forum?

A forum is an online discussion site where you can come and discuss many topics. You can either publish your own comments in the form of posts or threads or can reply to somebody else’s post or threads. It has many categories. Each category has its own discussion topics; each topic has its own threads and each thread has its personal posts.

What is the general structure of forum?

The structure of our forum is very simple, easy to understand and easy to navigate. It has many categories. On the main page of the forum, there is basic information about each category that how many threads and posts are there under each category, who created the thread and last activity on thread, etc.

Our forum is divided into various categories as main topic. To be more specific, each category is divided into certain topics. Under every topic, users can post their own threads and then posts are made to those threads.

What is the meaning of Sticky threads?

There are certain threads which are posted by administrator and considered as important. Such threads will always remain on the top of the page to make sure important information posted by the administrator remains at the top of the thread list.

How can I add new thread?

There are many categories on the main page of the forum. Each category has its own threads. A thread is a conversation between the users of site where they come and post their ideas and comments about that thread topic. There is an option to rate a thread to show its importance and fame. Threads also contain polls where different users come and vote.

You can add a new thread by clicking on New button near the Search button at the top of the page. You will move to a new page where you will select the main Category, Sub Category, enter Title of the topic and provide a detailed Description of the topic you are going to add. Now click on Save button to save your new topic.

How can I find certain threads and posts?

There is a search box above the recent forum activities. You can enter your search query in the search box and click on Search button to search the entire forum. You may filter your search your search by choosing one of the options from the drop box available next to the search box. You can choose topic title, topic description, category, sub category options to get more desired search results. Click on Search button to see results.
